Handheld Filters

Handheld shower filters combine filtration and a hand shower in one unit: twist off your existing shower head, screw this on, and you get filtered water with a flexible spray for rinsing, pets and kids, or hard-to-reach cleaning. Every ZOOSHEN handheld uses a replaceable cartridge (KDF-55 + activated carbon, or vitamin C for sensitive skin) with NSF/ANSI 177 pathway documentation. Built for renters and travellers who want chlorine and sediment reduction without plumbing changes.

How to choose handheld filters

  • Change nothing in your bathroom — the filter IS the hand shower: twist off the old head, screw this on, done in about a minute.
  • Pick KDF-55 + activated carbon when chlorine, chloramine or odour is the complaint; choose vitamin C + carbon for sensitive skin or colour-treated hair.
  • Choose the high-pressure variant if your water pressure already runs low — same filtration with an optimised flow path.
  • Every model takes the standard ZOOSHEN cartridge, so refills (from $4.90/unit at volume) fit across the whole range.

Handheld Filters — frequently asked questions

How do I install a ZOOSHEN handheld shower filter?
Unscrew your existing hand shower from the 1/2-inch shower arm, screw the ZOOSHEN handheld on in its place and hand-tighten. Tools are not required and the whole swap takes about a minute. No plumber, no thread tape for most fittings.
What is the difference between the KDF-55 and vitamin C handheld filters?
Both reduce chlorine. KDF-55 + activated carbon media is the general-purpose pick for chlorine, chloramine and odour reduction. The vitamin C version adds ascorbic-acid media, which some sensitive-skin users prefer for showering — it is also the formulation many spas and salons private-label.
Will a handheld filter lower my water pressure?
The standard models are sized for normal household pressure. If your pressure already runs low, choose the high-pressure handheld variant, which uses the same KDF-55 media with a flow-tuned path rather than a restricted one.
How often do I replace the cartridge?
The ZOOSHEN cartridges are rated around 12,000 litres — for a typical household of two showering daily, plan on replacing every 6 months. Replacement cartridges are listed in the Shop under Replacement Cartridges, and volume pricing starts at $4.90 per cartridge.
Does the handheld filter work with my existing shower arm?
Yes — all ZOOSHEN handheld filters use the standard 1/2-inch shower-arm connection (the universal fitting in US and EU plumbing), and an installation kit is available in the accessories range if your fitting needs an adapter.
